Our Leadership Team
Addiction Medicine Specialist | Board Certified in Family Medicine
Dr. Lipshitz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. After enduring four frigid winters in Wisconsin, he relocated to Northern California, where he completed his Family Medicine residency at the UCSF-affiliated program in Salinas.
In the early part of his career, Dr. Lipshitz ran a solo private practice in Sausalito, California, where he served as the “town doctor” for a diverse patient population—from families in the scenic hills to the “anchor-outs” on the waterfront. He also worked with the underserved community of neighboring Marin City, helping to establish their own Federally Qualified Health Center.
In 2015, seeking new professional challenges, Dr. Lipshitz became Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. He continues to approach his work through the lens of a family physician, maintaining the same compassionate, whole-person focus that defined his early practice. Over the past eleven years, he has provided care in several detox and residential treatment centers throughout Los Angeles County.
When not working, Dr. Lipshitz enjoys taking his four-legged companion, Billi, to the beach or park for a spirited game of fetch. He can also often be found reading at a coffee shop or exploring local hiking trails.
Program Director
I serve as the Program Director here at Haven Hills Rehabilitation Center. With a Masters in Healthcare Administration and as a part of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) I bring my experience in healthcare leadership to optimize the delivery of quality care to those in our community. As a current Marriage and Family Therapy Intern and a student in a Masters of Clinical Psychology, my clinical experience and education bridge the gap between organizational leadership and compassionate, evidence-based care. With experience across all levels of substance use treatment, I aspire to bring compassion and understanding to your healing process. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where both our team and clients can thrive – fostering growth, healing, and empowerment through collaboration, integrity, and healing.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a strong foundation in education and psychology, I bring a holistic and person-centered approach to leadership and clinical care in the substance use disorder field. I hold a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Industrial Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. Throughout my career, I have specialized in providing therapeutic services to adults facing addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges, guiding them toward recovery, resilience, and long-term wellness. As Clinical Director, I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care, fostering a collaborative and compassionate treatment environment, and supporting both clients and our clinical team in achieving meaningful, sustainable change.
